Since arriving so late into June, we had a short summer in both OR and Washington. We arrived on Craig's parents 66th Anniversary, so we celebrated on Sunday, June 14 with them. We also did Father's Day with them. We couldn't go out to eat as the limit was 5 people for reservations in WA, but we had a good time celebrating at their home. We also had to clean out our short term storage unit in Chehalis so the movers that have all of our long term storage items will deliver them to Phoenix at the same time.
We also spent a couple of weekends up in Puyallup, staying with two different friends. We celebrated Craig's 65th birthday the end of June at friends. On July 4th we spent four nights in Packwood and had a fabulous fireworks show. Then once we got back in Chehalis on Monday, we had our good friends from Estacada staying in the park with us for a week.
My nephew came up and spent a weekend the end of July with us for two nights, but they were missing one kid who was visiting his Mother in Idaho.
As always we enjoy spending time in our site. We always have lots of birds in the feeders, fountain and bird bath, but this year we had a resident deer in our site, the picture below shows the deer in the brush, but kind of hard to see. We also had a free day after all the stuff in storage packed, so we went to Grayland beach and enjoyed a walk on the beach and great fish n chips and clam chowder at Wheelhouse restaurant. Last picture of site is as we pulled out for the winter.
We went wine tasting with friends a couple of times to our two favorite wineries in the area. Bateaux and Agate Creek Cellars. Bateaux started a new tasting process due to Covid that worked out great.
We shortened our time in Salem from two weeks to one, so we stayed in Chehalis until August 6. We went from Chehalis to Estacada for 5 nights and then to Salem for a week.
In Salem we did some wine tasting with a cousin and her daughter on Thursday, going to Redhawk winery, Bjornson and out to Dundee to Methven. The dog in the picture at Bjornson was a puppy who had been cloned. On our way home, we rode the Wheatland Ferry.
On Friday we had friends come in as they were coming back from vacation in California and spent two nights with us. We went to Willamette Valley Winery and then to Ankeny before meeting up with another couple who joined us for dinner at Lum Yuens, our favorite Chinese restaurant. We were also able to see our "Oregon Mom" a couple of days as they are now letting her leave the Assisted Living home.
On Saturday, we went to Mount Angel and visited the Benedictine Abby Brewery and then went into town and visited the Sausage place and a great new winery, Paradis.
On Sunday evening, we were able to surprise our nephew for his 40th birthday at a barbecue with his friends. We also celebrated Brooke's 15th birthday.
On Monday, August 17 we moved onto Eugene to Oregon Motorcoach to get our yearly maintenance done on the coach.
