Sun City through June 9 and trip North

On April 1 we made it back to Sun City, prior to them closing the park to incoming guests for Covid.  We were able to park in the same site that we were in Oct - Jan 1.

We did weekly visits to the house and visited with a few friends prior to leaving June 9.  One couple came back to the Park, after leaving in March as he needed a lung transplant.  We helped them get settled and then we enjoyed walking Jethro, their black lab, while he was going through 2 weeks of  evaluations.

We stayed until the house reached the pre drywall phase to make sure all wiring and plumbing was in the right place before they drywalled.  Here are some pictures of the process:

Due to Covid we could not do Easter Service, so a person in the park played Amazing Grace and then some additional songs while everyone did their social distancing and sang to celebrate Easter.  We also needed to start wearing masks to go to stores, so I made some with items I had in my sewing materials.

We walked our 3 miles most mornings until the weather got hot, even getting up at 6:30 to be out walking by 7:30, didn't work as it was getting warm early.  So we switched to bicycling 6-9 miles.  Before we left the temperatures were getting about 114, setting records for April, May and June.  The best part of our walks were capturing the blooming cactus.

By staying in Arizona later than normal, we also were able to see Saguaro cactus bloom.

On June 9, we decided we would head home, so we dropped the trailer at the place where we will store the motorhome and then traveled about 300 miles a day stopping at Blake Ranch, Tonopah RV, Susanville RV park and River Park RV north of Grants Pass.  We would not go back to River Park as they said we could get satellite, but they put us in another spot and could not access it.

On June 13 we arrived back in Chehalis where it was cold and still raining, but a nice change from the hot weather in Phoenix.
