Returning to PACNW for Summer

We arrived into Oregon Motorcoach Center in Eugene on May 22 to get a couple items fixed on the motorhome before traveling back into our leased campsite in Chehalis on May 24.  So nice to be back and immediately once the bird feeders were filled, we had lots of camp visitors.

On Wednesday, June 6th, we went down to Vista Park to meet with friends in Skamokawa, WA.  We enjoy watching all the ships go by on the Columbia river.  This year we had a great treat as our friend made arrangements for us to ride the Navy Missile Destroyer, USS Michael Murphy, from Astoria into the Portland Waterfront park.  This was an all day event which included breakfast and lunch on the ship, as well as tours of the ship and lots of time to interact with the crew of about 300.

We had to go under multiple bridges as we got into Portland.  Only had 5 feet when passing under the Steele bridge below.

When we picked up our winter/spring wine shipment from one of our favorite wineries, Agate Creek Cellars, in Chehalis, we volunteered to help them bottle wine, great experience for us.  We spent a few hours and bottled 48 cases of wine, and of course had to take breaks along the way to taste the wine.

On June 15, we were able to have our two great newphews spend the night and then the next day, we took the boys to our nephews College Graduation party.

Later that evening and Father's Day, we had the rest of the boy's family camping with us and enjoyed the time just catching up with all their activities and celebrating Cale's 13th birthday.

On June 20th we drove down to Estacada, OR to park the motorhome while we went on our cruise to London, Scotland, Norway and Iceland.  We enjoyed the time before and after the cruise with them as well as getting rides to the airport.  The cruise pictures are in an entry of it's own.

Once we got back from the cruise, we had a couple of days in camp and then on Friday, July 20 we went to Woodinville, WA with friends for a wine tasting trip. On Friday we found a great little grill for lunch, Nick's Grill and then we proceeded to wineries;  Chateau St. Michelle, Columbia, Pepperbridge/Amavi and J Bookwalter.   After checking into the hotel we spent the evening in Kirkland at the Marina park and had dinner at an Irish Pub.

On Saturday, We started early and hit 5 wineries and had a great lunch at Hollywood Tavern.  The wineries were;  Cougar Crest, Tsillan, Avennia, Genoa and Isenhower.  We had a great restaurant recommendation of Russell's in Bothel.  The restaurant is in a renovated dairy barn from the 20s  and was a delightful place.

On Sunday, before heading home we ended our trip with three wineries; JM Cellars, Basel Cellars and Gorman.

In between all this, we have did lots of maintenance doctor visits as well as enjoying meeting up with family and friends.  The summer has gone by so fast as we are getting ready to go to Oregon for three weeks on July 30.
Our friends came for a visit and brought their
three dogs.  This is Jack, a champion Russel
Terrier at 10 months.
