This was one of their worst wind storms in Vegas for at least 5 years, winds were in excess of 60 - 70 mph gusts and dropped over 20 degrees in 4 hours. Four semis in Vegas overturned, they had to shut down the airport and many people were without power. We were parked in between two other large RVs, but the motorhome was moving quite a bit on the major gusts. This was the worst wind storm we had been through since living in the motorhome. We watched the sheet metal below come over the fence and over the RVs as if it was paper. Luckily it did not come near our motorhome.
We did have a great time visiting with a school friend and her husband (Phyllis and Charlie) at a great Mexican restaurant, Viva Zapata's on Friday before Charlie had a business trip. Then Craig and I enjoyed meeting with Phyllis on Sunday to attend church service. Growing up, I would go to church with Phyllis's family in Dallas. Brought back memories.
Spent most of our time in Vegas with Tiffany and her family at their home. Enjoyed watching Nibbles (the bunny) eating food and treats with the dogs.
Spent a part of the day on the Strip. We rode the monorail (Mike was in the control room and could see us on the cameras, just like he was with us). We went to the Bellagio conservatory, saw the Bellagio water fountains, and then ate at White Castle. This was Craig's and my first time at White Castle and when Tiffany suggested a box of 30 hamburgers, it was like wow! Well since they are so small, with the boy's appetite, they were all gone when we left.

Waiting to catch the Monorail and enjoyed the view of the ferris wheel with the moon. |
Last day before leaving for St. George, UT, the kids came and spent time in the park and then we had
a barbecue.
