July and August

It's been a busy summer so far helping with Mom and Dad and spending some time in Oregon.  Before leaving for Mom and Dad's we had friends visit us in Chehalis and the dogs enjoyed their walks.

Mid-July we spent two weeks in Yelm alongside of Craig's parent's house in the motorhome.  Mother had back surgery July 16 so we were here for the pre and post operation recovery.  She handled the surgery very well and was able to get off of pain pills after about a week.

We also enjoyed attending my nephew's kid's summer birthday party in July.  A swim party in the rain, but the kids enjoyed it anyway.

On July 28th we went onto Seaside, OR and met up with two other couples.  We played pickle ball in the morning and just enjoyed everyone's company.  Craig and his friend went on a couple of motorcycle rides and we enjoyed some beach time.  Oregon coast is the best!!

From Seaside we went onto Salem to see friends and family and attend an annual Larson picnic in the Dallas park.  I met up with school friends for lunch on Saturday, August 8th and Craig took my deceased friend's mother to Pacific City on the motorcycle.  She had a great time.  We also attended one of the State Farm retirees pizza lunches they have every second Tuesday of the month in Salem.  Craig took Donna  to the lunch on the bike as well.

We spent another week in Chehalis and had friends camp with us for about 5 days.  We went to Long Beach, spent time in the pool and enjoyed each other's company around camp.  While in Chehalis we also attended the Olympia parade to see our friends daughter and her float.

On Aug. 23, Craig and I celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary, 40 years together by going out to dinner with his parents and brother and sister in law.

On Aug. 25 we came back to Yelm in preparation for Craig's Mother's second surgery was primarily to do her eyelids so she can maintain her peripheral vision.  Her surgery was on Aug. 27 and she was in surgery for over 9 hours.  Of course after being under that long she had a more difficult time coming out of the anesthesia so they kept her one night.  Lots of swelling, icing, ointments etc.  She will get her stitches out on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 3 and after that Craig and I will make a determination of how much longer we stay in Washington before heading South.

We will be able to attend one Seahawks game before we leave - the last preseason game against the Raiders.  Go Hawks!!
