Phoenix

We stayed in Phoenix from March 25 through April 1 at the Thousand Trails Encore park - Paradise RV Resort.  Same park as we stayed in last year located in Sun City.  Most of our time was spent visiting with friends.  On Thursday, Craig went on a motorcycle ride with guys from the park and returned around 2:00 as it was already in the 90's.  In fact the entire week, we had temperatures ranging from 95 - 100 - a little hot!!!

Their ride took them to Cave Creek in which they were just starting to set up bike week there, Fountain Hills (see the picture below) and then Scottsdale.  Some of the guys riding were the same ones he met last year on the ride.

This fountain is not the tallest fountain in the world anymore, but it is still within the top 5.  If all three pumps run, it can reach about 560 feet, but unless it's a special occasion, they only run two pumps at 330 feet high.  The fountain was built in 1970 and for a decade, it was the world's tallest fountain.

I had lunch with one of the Section Managers I worked with in Washington as well as one of my high school classmates that I had not seen for at least 30 years.  Craig and I also did lunch with some friends that I worked with and one of our Puyallup neighbors had us to their new home in Sun City West.

We took one day and drove out to Fountain Hills, Lake Saguaro and Apache Junction.  The Lake was beautiful and since it was so hot, everyone else had the same idea.

This park has really friendly people and I think we met everyone who was in our same block and enjoyed a campfire with the neighbors and their 20 other friends.

On Wednesday morning we headed north to Bullhead City.
