Bloomington, Illinois

We arrived on Monday afternoon and went into town to meet one of my old managers for drinks.  There aren't too many RV places to stay in this area, but we decided to stay at Comlara County Campground,  near Hudson.  Our other choice was in Carlock, IL and after talking to others we found out it was a great campground, but very noisy as it's very near I-74 and a railroad track.  Very normal for many RV parks, but something we try and stay away from.

Another bonus of Comlara, we had a site 108 feet long and they allowed us to wash the motorhome - which was pretty dirty from all the road grit.  We spent the day washing the motorhome and trailer and then it rained that night.  We had some weather for a few days - rain, lightening, thunder and low winds.

Spent most of our week, visiting with friends from work and family.  For those that remember me talking about my Uncle who turned 103 in March, we were planning this visit to see him, but he passed away this summer before we got here.  We still enjoyed our visit with all the cousins - first, second and third generations.  We also enjoyed seeing some of my work friends and was especially appreciative of those that stopped by Baxters on Friday night to see us as well as the dinner that we enjoyed with friends at their home on Thursday.
Evergreen Lake - we can see part of the lake from our
campsite, but had to walk a few feet to get this view.

On Sunday, we went down to Springfield and visited the Lincoln museum/library, his old home and the memorial.

We then traveled on Tuesday to southern Illinois.
